Coral reefs are the largest living organisms on the planet and home to 25% of all marine life. 1/5 of the world’s reefs have been lost due to global warming and human activity. The remaining ones could disappear by 2050. 500 million people live within 60 miles of a coral reef across the world. If the current global warming trend continues sea levels could rise between three to six feet this century resulting in major coastal erosion and also threaten the health, safety and economic viability of many coastal communities.
